Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor

Blackmount Recruitment is looking to speak with experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors for upcoming opportunities with reputable London-based contractors delivering residential, commercial, mixed-use, refurbishment, fit-out, and major construction schemes.

This role would suit a commercially strong SQS who is confident managing subcontractor packages, procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting, contract administration, and final accounts on complex construction projects.

Typical Responsibilities:
• Managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account
• Preparing and managing CVRs, forecasts, cashflow, cost reports, and commercial updates
• Reviewing and administering subcontract orders, payments, notices, variations, and claims
• Managing interim valuations, payment notices, pay-less notices, and subcontractor applications
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures
• Supporting procurement schedules, tender analysis, and subcontractor negotiations
• Working closely with project teams to monitor progress, change, and commercial performance
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal senior management
• Supporting contract administration under JCT or similar forms of contract

Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
• Experience on residential, commercial, refurbishment, mixed-use, fit-out, or major London projects
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts, subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Ability to manage multiple packages or take commercial ownership of a project section
• Strong reporting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Degree qualified or working towards relevant professional qualification would be advantageous
• Confident, commercially aware, and able to work closely with site-based teams
