Senior Estimator – Main Contractor

Blackmount Recruitment is looking to speak with experienced Senior Estimators for upcoming opportunities with established London-based contractors delivering residential, commercial, mixed-use, refurbishment, fit-out, and complex construction projects.

This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded Senior Estimator who can take ownership of tenders, manage subcontractor engagement, lead pricing exercises, identify risk, support value engineering, and present tenders to senior leadership.

Typical Responsibilities:
• Leading tenders from initial review through to submission and handover
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, employer’s requirements, bills, and technical documents
• Measuring works, preparing pricing documents, and building up detailed cost plans
• Managing subcontractor enquiries, tender returns, comparisons, and negotiations
• Preparing tender clarifications, qualifications, exclusions, risk registers, and adjudication packs
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative procurement strategies
• Liaising with pre-construction, commercial, design, planning, and delivery teams
• Presenting tender information to directors and supporting final tender submissions
• Maintaining strong subcontractor and supplier relationships

Ideal Candidate:
• Strong estimating experience within a main contractor, developer contractor, or specialist contractor
• Proven experience pricing residential, commercial, refurbishment, mixed-use, or complex London projects
• Excellent understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, design, and commercial risk
• Ability to lead tenders independently and manage internal and external stakeholders
• Strong subcontractor network and current market knowledge
• Confident in tender adjudication, value engineering, and commercial reporting
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
